Artist Statement
My art is rooted in connection—especially the deep, often wordless bond between humans and animals. I work primarily in pastels and watercolor pencils, which allow me to capture the softness, emotion, and spark in my subjects’ eyes. Whether it’s a beloved pet or a wild creature, I aim to portray not just the likeness, but the soul.
Though I’ve dabbled in every medium from sculpture to digital, my heart has always returned to drawing. Animals have an honesty and presence that moves me, and I try to mirror that authenticity in every piece I create. I want people to feel something when they see my work—whether it’s joy, comfort, or even a happy tear.
Art has been a constant thread through my life. I was one of those kids who could draw before they could tie their shoes. I pursued graphic design professionally, but making fine art—especially animal art—has always been my first love. Now, I’m embracing that passion fully, and it feels like coming home.
